Howard Ehrenberg has been a member of the Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Panel of Trustees, appointed by the Office of the United States Trustee since 1995, and Credentialed State Court Receiver. He is certified as a Business Bankruptcy Law Specialist by the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification. Mr. Ehrenberg is an active member of the Los Angeles Bankruptcy Forum, the Financial Lawyers Conference, American Bankruptcy Institute and Council of Certified Bankruptcy Specialists. Every year since 2004, Mr. Ehrenberg has been selected as a Southern California Super Lawyer. He has served as a member of the Executive Board of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Currently, he serves on the Advisory Board of Directors for Safety Belt Safe, Inc., a national organization that promotes child car safety, and was a commissioner in the City of Burbank, California, from 2002 to 2006.
Several articles written by Mr. Ehrenberg have appeared in legal publications. They include: "Keep the Payment Received: Nine Things You Can Do To Prevent a Preference Action," "Creditors’ Committees: Powerful Tools for Unsecured Creditors" and "Debt Relief: The Effects of the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 2005 Upon Individuals". Mr. Ehrenberg is a frequent speaker at bar association and trade group seminars. Mr. Ehrenberg has been a guest in the KNX Business News Hour, and is frequently quoted as an authority on a variety of bankruptcy topics.
Mr. Ehrenberg graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a B.A. degree in Rhetoric in 1983, and earned his J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1986.
