Senior Counsel Cathy Ta will serve as Secretary of the Insolvency Law Committee (ILC) of the California Lawyers Association for the 2019-2020 term. Ta was originally appointed to the Insolvency Law Committee in 2017. Prior to becoming Secretary, Ta served as an Education Subcommittee member, and in that role, co-produced and co-presented on bankruptcy preference insider issues in October 2018, and chaired the ILC’s reception event featuring United States Bankruptcy Judge Scott C. Clarkson and his presentation on “Rembrandt – The Bankruptcy Printmaker: His Life and Bankruptcy Proceedings of 1656” in April 2019.
With approximately 26 members, the ILC is the most active committee within the California Lawyers Association and is focused on policy and education issues. Members are chosen and selected from across the state to uphold the ILC’s mission “to promote predictability, efficiency and consistency in the administration of the federal and California laws governing insolvency and the rights and duties of creditors and debtors.”
