On June 30, 2015 Managing Member Howard Ehrenberg testified before the Assembly Judiciary Committee in opposition to SB 308, a bill that passed the Senate in May 2015 that would increase the homestead exemption to $300,000 across the board for all debtors.
With Mr. Ehrenberg, along with trustees and lobbyists from groups, such as the California Bankers and the Association of County Treasurers, the author of the Bill, Senator Bob Wieckowski, agreed to reduce the levels of homestead exemptions in order to eventually get the votes needed to pass the Bill.
