SulmeyerKupetz Challenges City of San Bernardino on Behalf of San Bernardino City Professional Firefighters

SulmeyerKupetz has filed two proceedings on behalf of the San Bernardino City Professional Firefighters (“Fire Union”) in the United States Bankruptcy Court to challenge the City of San Bernardino’s violations of municipal law. Arguing that the chapter 9 debt adjustment process does not preempt all state law governing public employment, the Fire Union seeks relief to remedy post-petition actions unilaterally taken by the City of San Bernardino.
