In January 2016, SulmeyerKupetz Member David M. Goodrich, co-counsel for the San Bernardino City Professional Firefighters, Local 891, negotiated a settlement with the City of San Bernardino in its chapter 9 bankruptcy case resolving years of litigation.
The settlement results in approximately $6 million in compensation to the members of the Union. It also provides Union members with valuable accrued vacation and leave time – some of which will be carried over to new positions with the County of San Bernardino.
Mr. Goodrich is also serving as the Union’s disbursing agent for the settlement payments received from the City of San Bernardino.
